Yeah, looking at the board...1 x 20 pin connector (ATX) and one 4 pin connector (ATX-12V)

You're now gonna tell me that's standard......lol

It was standard at the time this board was designed...
My mobo has that setup
the 24-pin newer ones are due to higher demands for dual video-cards and/or PCI express cards more video/processor power = higher consumption.

Please, please do not rush this purchase.

The ratio of "junk" PSU's to good -quality is about 2 - 1.
You can really get burned if you jump @ the first one you see.
I cannot stress this enough-- if a weak PSU generated ALL of these problems-- and it is likely... why go buy more of the same ?

Yes it SAYS 400 W-- it might be fine--it might not. I am unfamiliar with shops in the UK-- perhaps I can call in some more experienced help...

be patient.

I'll take that advice very seriuosly.

I have dug up my old system that I built a few (6 maybe) years ago. It was a P4 1.4 Ghz on an intel board. It had more bits bolted in it than you can imagine:

CD ROM
DVD ROM
Sound Blaster Live Drive
USB PCI card (to add a few more USB ports)
Ethernet card
Sound Blaster Live ports at back
A Hercules Video Card
2 sticks of RAM (Can't remember which type)
And this PSU:

FSP >> PC Power Supply >> ATX 12V ver.1.3 >> FSP350-60PN(PF)

Rated at 350W DC output

This is a big step up to what I have now. It even has SATA power connections (or ones that look like it)

Please check out the specs on the link.....it's good that it's still on their web site eh?

Ta
