Default Different RAM Manufacturers

Hi,

I recently upgraded my PC by adding a second stick off 512K DDR RAM. It kind of works OK - but round about 25% of the time, it power-cycles immediately following boot up. Sometimes before a power cycle I get a temporary blue screen full of gibberish

Touch wood, once running the PC seems stable.

Now - the memory sticks are by different manufacturers -one being Crucial the other being Samsung.

Although both sticks are the same spec - is it possible that I've got some sort of compatability issue?

Any thoughts - gratefully recieved.

.

Welcome to PCHF Polecat!

Have you tried using one stick of ram at a time?

Welcome!!

Can you please try a memory test on both sticks individually?

Memtest86 - Memory Diagnostic Page
it will check to make sure you don't have faulty memory.
