Default suspect memory

had regular crashing for some time. Only able to reboot by disconnecting mains for few seconds. Now has refused to reboot and only activity is a couple of revs from P4 fan. Have tried disconnecting peripherals and replaced Mboard. Have tested PSU and that is working normally including power good line. Have removed ram and replaced individually and together to no avail. Ram is Crucial 2 512Mb DDR PC 3200 400. Am now suspecting RAM or CPU. Power sw and Reset sw are ok. Before getting expensive ram or cpu to substitute do you have any suggestions please

Hi kship, welcome to the PCHF!

If you're wondering about your memory...try Memtest86 - Memory Diagnostic Page

thanks for suggesting memtest86. Unable to use as i cannot even get into bios. The only thing that responds at power sw on is a short flip of the cpu fan. Then i have to disconnect mains for few secs to repeat.
