Exclamation [Resolved] Installed new Ram, Monitor doesnt work. Help

Hi all, i just bought a gig of ram online from America, installed it, booted ok but monitor wont turn on. The light stays yellow. Tried moving to other slot and also by itself but no good.
Works ok with the existing ram i have (512MB DDR SD 333). The new ram is a 1GB DDR SD 400Mhz PC3200.

Motherboard (K8Upgrade VM-800) is compatible and so is the existing ram.

Please help pc is really slow

Thanks

Hi Oki, welcome to the PCHF!

Just want to confirm. You can boot up without the new ram in, but as soon as you put it in, it doesn't let you boot?

Thumbs up All Fixed

Hi Garhar, Thanks for the reply. Yes thats exactly what was happening. Old ram was ok with the boot up.
I just worked it out though thanks to google.

Incase anyone has the same problem that i did. All i did was flash the bios (upgraded it) of my motherboard.
Now the new ram works perfect.

Goodluck to all.

Thanks again Garhar.
