Default [Resolved] Memory installation problem :-(

Yo.
I built my pc myself and most of it works fine. Only thing i'm having trouble with is the memory. I have 1gb but windows only says i have 512 installed. I've read that it can be caused by incompatibility of motherboard and the type of ram.
i dont know anything about my ram other than it's 1gb ddr.
belarc recognises that there is 1gb of ram but also knows that only 512 of it is installed.
my motherboard is Biostar K8NHAG ver 1.2

Can anybody help me or explain accurately why it might not be working properly. :-)

All replies appreciated. :-)

thanx

i forgot to mention, i`ve bin using the pc for a year now with 512mb ram. i forgot about it for a long time but the upcoming release of windows vista reminded me.

Hi mintedjo,

Can you tell me if the memory is recognised in the BIOS?

No probs.
It was as simple as flashing (updating) the bios.
In my case all it took was a visit to www.biostar.tw
Its easy to do and didnt break anything :-)
That was a suggestion made by GarHar in a different thread i started.
So thanks GarHar.
