So. Here's the deal.
I [about a month ago] purchased the Corsair XMS Dual Channel [1 gig x2 512's]. It's been working great, until tonight [I'm using a different comp to write this]. I was playing WOW, when my video card acted up (a 9800 pro which has been working great for months). IT freaked out, so I restarted my comp, and all was good. I installed my new ATI Video drivers with little problem, but then the install fked up. I restarted again, and it gave me some errors, so I turned my comp off. I few seconds later, after letting the
RAM Clear itself, I turned it back on.
It gives me this:
Main Processor : AMD 2800+ Barton
and nothing more. It stops there. Normally it says,
RAM testing OK and what not, but it didn't. I swaped out my Video card with a 100% working 9600, same problem. I'm [guessing] it's my
RAM. Before I go through the hassel of RMA, any ideas? Opinions? IS this a
RAM related issue? Or is there something else I can try?..-_-
specs: AMD 2800+ Barton, 1 GIg of corsair duel channel XMS, 9800 Pro, 80gig Maxtor RAID HD, MSI K7n2 Delta2 Platinum
mobo.
I have sufficient cooling, and have been running the thing consistently for a few days with no problems. Maybe it fried?... I have no idea. I have at least 4 well working fans, and my processor has a thermal take full copper heatsink. Even the
RAM's have their own heatsinks.
-_- PLEASE HELP!
