Default Not Identifying RAM

Hey everyone im new here....
i did the Belarc thing where it tells you your comp specs:

Specs:
Board: ECS M921LR
1.70 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4

...heres the kicker:

Ive been messin around with stuff in my PC, i decided to clean out the board cuz it was just filthy inside.

Before i decided to play DR., at the POST it would say that i have over 700MB of memory....
i took everythin apart, used rubbin alchohol and an airduster to clean everythin.

Took out the CMOS battery and put it back in, put in my two DIMMS, troubleshooted some stuff i kinda fudged an then i turn my comp on.

now, at the POST it only says i have 256+MB of memory....

now i dont remember how big the additional DIMM was, either 512 or 256....im pretty sure it was a 512. But it doesnt say how big it is on the actual Module.

this is what the profile summary says:

256 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'A0' is Empty
Slot 'A1' has 256 MB
Slot 'A2' has 256 MB

....so whats the dealio? can anyone help?

oh, i tried putting in each Memory Module by itself and powering on the comp...but it only identifies the 256MB DIMM that came with the comp when i put it in the second slot.
i tried doin that with the other one, but it wouldnt boot, id keep getting the beeping when i powered on my comp

ps. Im gonna be askin lots of questions cuz im all new to the customizing the PC and stuff.....[Johnny5]...Input, Input, Input [/Johnny5]

:-D Hey McCheeze,

Welcome to PCHF.

This is unfortunately not my area of expertise. But rest assured we have some tremendous folks on the team, and one of the guys who deals with hardware issues regularly will get back to you as soon as they get back online.

I did have one thought tho, have you pulled and reseated your memory? Certainly worth a try.
Also, can you be more specific about this part
troubleshooted some stuff i kinda fudged
Just in case it is relevant for the person who walks you through this.
