Default [Answered] Ram Mixing, not recognizing

Hello, this is my first post here, im told this is a great place for PC tech support.

Here is my problem, I am currently running an AMD 3500 on a motherboard that supports up to 4 gig of ram. Mother board is an ASUS GURU K8T890.

Well i originally had 2gigs of kingston PC3200, 400hmz in 1gb stick form, so 2 dimms used of 4. Went to fry's to purchase another 2 gigs of kingston and they dont have it in stock, so i went with the same thing as above but the manufacturer was Patriots. Same latency same size and so on. I know a large amount about computers myself so i couldent see why this wasnt working, I went into my CMOS and changed my latency from 333 to 400mhz, No idea why it was set at 333. but i am only seeing my 2 gigs of ram, when i reboot it counts up the the 4xxxxxxxxx when it calculates my ram. Any ideas?

Hi Starwind and welcome to PCHF.

I am slightly confused as you have stated that your motherboard is a ASUS GURU K8T890. Abit make the uGuru chip motherboards with the KT890 chipset, but ASUS also make KT890 boards (Asus A8V-E Deluxe etc). Could you please post your exact motherboard model and make.

Thanks
