ok its time to make a choise lol.. Either way your going to loose a liottle money but get a good boost in performance... Since both 256 sticks are kingston (very great ram) you can buy another 2 sricks of that. Or Keep the 512 meg stick of SpecTek (never heard of it) and buy another 512 meg stick, if you return your ram to newegg you can get this...http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app...141-413&depa=1

Or is you can sell your other ram somwhere and get the refund from newegg get this http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app...141-423&depa=1 And you will be doing good, as long as you stick with kingston and you keep the 256 sticks in slot 2 and 4 and the new 512 kingston sticks in slot 1 and 3 you will be in dual channel mode

Brando name dont matter, but it has to be the same name!!! Timings may be the same on paper but not in real life hence the problem your having now..

If you take out that 512 meg stick you will be running dual channel. but with only 512 megs of ram, which is good it's just not a gig and a half :-D

Hmm does Newegg give the credit back to my credit card or do I have to buy it on their site now? because I'd rather just buy the SpecTek ram

Edit: I meant buy 2 x 256 take out the 512 and then have 4 x 256 hence 1 gig instead of a gig and a half

not a problem.. I would go for the 2 times 256 or if you want sell all the sticks and get this stuff

http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app...144-161&depa=1 This is what I have times 2

but if thats not in the budget stick with the 256 meg sticks from kingston!
