Default [Fixed] CPU Cache

Hi, The names Grant,

I have dell inspiron 8600 with a pentium m 1.7ghz dothan processor, 512mb pc2700 ram, 60gb 5400rpm HD and ati 9600 radeon 128mb Graphics card. My question is and im sorry if im in the wrong thread but, when a user plays a game, does that game clear the CPU CACHE because, when i exit the game, my laptop runs kind of slow until i open an appliaction atleats once. After that, the application will open atnormal spead. My IT teacher said that this is because the game erases the CPU cahce to use it and then once you exit the game, the pc then needs to load you programs back on to it again. Is this true or do i have a problem. I know im probably over reacting but, im new to the gaming world. Thanks

Welcome to Pchelpforums

It is more the games take most of your ram up and when you exit somtimes the computer needs to cacth up and slow down from the more graphic intensive procees it was just doing. Its normal when you have 512 megs of ram. If you had a gigabyte of ram it probly would not do that. But has nothing to do with the cache on the die of your cpu.
