Default [Answered] Memory Upgrade Question

Hi,

I got 512 in dual channel installed (so 2 x 256) on the 1st and 3rd slot of my motherboard. The book of the motherboard says that for dual channel to work it must be in the 1st and 3rd slot or in the 2nd and 3rd slot. If I want to upgrade my ram, can I buy just a single 512 and add it in the 2nd slot? Will it work well?

Thank you...

I have a feeling that it should work fine BUT you will lose the dual DDR if you do this. Your motherboard supports up to 3gb RAM

Thank you!

Still I guess I would be better with 1 gig instead of just 512 in dual channel... So I guess I will upgrade my ram soon.
