- I started using computers when I was 4 years old, with my dads old Commodore...the ones before C64...disk drive in the keyboard..that plugged into the TV. We then moved to C128, and bypassed C64 completely.
After that, my dad went out and bought us a Aptiva/Commodore split, it was great - it had SOUND!!
My first PC came again when my dad upgraded his computer...at this stage we had 2 - 1 for him, and 1 for the kids so we couldn't mess around with his work. This computer was a 386 33mhz with 4mb of ram and a 40mb hard drive. My best friend had a 386 66mhz with 32mb of ram (yes...his dad was a AutoCAD user...needed the memory..and could afford the memory).
This 386 had Windows 3.1, and QuickMenu 3 installed.
My next computer, was a 486 DX 66mhz with 8mb of ram, and a 512kb S3 video card and an 8bit sound card...no pc speaker anymore for me!
Then proceeded into the Pentium races...but I had a Intel suppliment...a Cyrix 150+...gawd awful CPU with NO 3D floating point. I had this computer for about...4 or 5 years, and I could barely do anything with it..even with the 3DFX Voodoo in it I had.
After a few years, I could afford an upgrade, and managed to get a 10gb seagate barracuda hard drive, 128mb pc100 sdram and a K6-2 500mhz AMD with an Asus geforce2 GTS 64mb. Moved to a P3 450mhz, then to an AMD Athlon 1600+, AthlonXP 2800+ w/ 512mb ram & a geforce4 ti 4200, then to 1gb and an x800 pro. Now to my current computer which I won't post here as it's attached to any of my posts.
I first got the internet as a birthday present setup by my dad while I was interstate visiting some relatives for my birthday. This is about the same time the name 'garhar' was born, as my dad needed a username, and thought of it- i hated him for it, because everyone used to laugh after it "garharharharharhar" they would say hehehe...drove me nuts..but it grew on me. I've always been fast learning with computers, and can solve pretty much any problem. I've always solved my own problems - obviously asking for help when needed. - Location
