Virginmedia Caps Downloads.

After six days of trying to get my internet back to 10 meg broadband I have resolved the issue.

Yesterday after spending many minutes on the phone with Virginmedia Tech Support.(ok ok **** Tech Support).The woman,s english was very very poor belive me.

She got me backup to my 10 meg.

Yeay.

Well today I am back down to around 2 meg.


Rings Virginmedia again and got to the root of the problem.

As from this month Virginmedia are capping your downloads.

Please note when you reach your MAX of 3 gig or is that meg? download limit on any given day your speed will be capped.

If you recive 10 meg braodband you will only get around 2 meg.If you recive 20 meg you will proberly only get about 3 meg.

Although all is not lost.

If you wait approx 6 hours(well apparently 5 1/2) your speed will rise again to your normal speed.

So could members please note this issue if they are signed up with Virginmedia broadband services.That it is not an internet issue that needs to be fixed.It is a patience problem,please wait a few hours your internet speed will return.

Ian I proberly think they get nothing for a few hours.

2 meg has always been capped.

UK ISP are also going to start blocking illegal downloads.

i got a letter from virgin media stating that i have been warned about downloading illegal content ???? very confused i scouted around the house to find out my sister had found a lovely peer to peer program on her laptop and was downloading songs! the funny thing was on the letter it said "Mr Norris we have evidence that the following file was downloaded from .....IP" "Busted 3am" god the embarassment!

Oh God, No, NOT "Busted"
