Re: Kyle Busch
Nope, I'm no Stewart fan, but I'll say Tony's OK as long as he takes his Prozac.
I pull for anyone who drives for Jack Roush. My favorite driver is Mark Martin, an ex-Roush guy, who is the greatest NASCAR Champion that never won a Championship. Carl Edwards has taken Mark's place IMO @ Roush/Fenway Racing, and will take Mark's place on my list if and when Mark ever retires.
One of my Aunts, herself a racing-in-any-form aficionado and New York to Florida transplant, took me to my 1st NASCAR race. It was the Firecracker 400 @ Daytona in the early/mid 1960's. WOW!! For a budding teenager I thought I had died and gone to Heaven.
My interest in NASCAR has waned in the last 5 - 10 years, due mainly to some idiotic rules and judgements put in place by the powers that be @ NASCRUD. I guess that comes with all the money and popularity of Stock Car racing today.
For the record: ANYBODY BUT KYLE BUSCH!! Now then, I feel better......

Number 3 is the greatest to ever get behind a wheel. Past, present, or future. He put NASCAR on the map.
And, for anyone who doesn't know who I'm talking about, get a life!
Martin's ok as drivers go, but he was a back seater compared to Dale.
As for Stewart, well, that's what happens when you forget for flush. The fact the he's usually in the money at races these days is proof of how diluted the racing gene pool is these days. When was the last time you saw the second place driver whip pass the leader at the last corner to win the race. I rest my case.

Re: Kyle Busch
Hahahahaha........... Gandalf you flatter yourself!!
I'm on everybody's You-Know-What List. First and foremost, just ask my 3 ex-wives. Please take a number and get in line.
BTW, historically NASCAR lore dictates that running in 1st place is the LAST place to be at the beginning of the LAST lap. That's how often passing for the lead has happened over the previous 50 years. The term "slingshot pass" was coined in NASCAR to describe the move from 2nd to 1st for the win.
Also, you may have misunderstood my remark about Mark Martin. I said Mark is the greatest Champion who has never won a Championship. May I add the best way to spot a NASCAR fringe fan is they think Dale Sr. was the greatest NASCAR driver of all time. (UUUHHHHH, did I open another can of worms??)
The greats, like Richard Petty (200 wins and 6 Championships), David Pearson (105 wins and 3 Championships), Cale Yarborough (83 wins and 3 Championships in a row!!), the list is incredibly long, performed their magic before Dale and the modern era. Back when you had to conserve enough energy during a race to join the gang fights in the garage area after the race.
The only thing I'll credit Dale with is being a man and taking other cars out of the race if the need arose. Of course that was AFTER the day when the practice was accepted, condoned, and an integral part of NASCAR racing.
All of this brings up another point. Back in my barroom/drinking days we had a rule. Never talk about politics, religion, or arm wrestle in a bar because they will lead up to a fist fight. The Internet needs a rule about NASCAR. The mere mention of the acronym brings out some pretty strong opinions. I'd like to think we can agree to disagree.
Even if Kyle Busch IS a little weiner boy!!
