best album from 75-00 == London Calling, regardless of what Rolling Stone says.....most influential album by far, and dad gum it, I really miss Strummer......IMHO, they were my generation's Lennon and Macca; one would write the hook (jones), and one would write the lyrics that just stopped you dead in your tracks (strummer). Plus one had a successful solo career and one didn't, at least until the Mescalero's started coming around......great band, easily in my top 2 albums of all time.

hah! got into a debate on music over at TSG (only there now for debates, do my tech stuff here), and it got pretty heated. It was obvious that we both knew what we were talking about, but I could *not* convince him that Pet Sounds was the best pop album over Sgt Pepper, as Pet Sounds influenced Sgt. Pepper. We went round and round and round, and then it comes to light that the gent is a music critic in the UK; has written a couple of books on the subject.....that made ME make note to self to check out qualifications of people I'm debating.

still stand by my point though. Even Macca says that without Pet Sounds there would be no Sgt. Pepper.
