Default 42" HD panel vs 7900GS

My card lost

It fried itself, rocketed to 90c and Blue Screens of Death'ed, fried a memory chip apparently, which chain reacted and corrupted/damaged the rest of the chips, and it's been slowly dying.. First I could barely game, then I couldn't game at all, then firefox wouldn't work, finally desktop seized up, then explorer went into a continuous crashing loop, and then start menu stopped responding, and now it refuses to boot

What's funny is that I was watching all the Star Wars in full 1080p first, which is why it overheated I'm assuming.. And then later tried gaming.. Though it shouldn't have as I've made it do continuous playback in 1080p.. Oh well

RIP 7900GS.

Kinda weird though considering the 42" ran at 1346x768 whilst my desktop panel runs at 1440x900, so it fried itself running at an inferior resolution, on lower graphical settings then usual. Technology is truly wonderful, never ceases to find new ingenious ways to fry itself at the most opportune times [/sarcasm]

Gotta ring up eVGA on Monday now.. maybe I can get a 9600GT as a replacement for it. Good thing laptop is in working condition (for now anyways)

If they accept for a 9800GX2, they'd probably ask me to pay the price difference.. which I can't afford
