You sound like a true Blues fan Ih8bills. I guess I've been a Santana fan for about the same time. I was fortunate enough to catch Stevie Ray before he broke out in the big times. I remember he and his brother would play some of the joints I frequented. Yep...he was great even then. I need to find more info in Jonny. He is awesome.
Happy to hook you up...I guarantee that if you go see Jonny-- you will never regret it.

Yeah I'm a blues man mostly... though I love most types of music.
Blues/Jazz/Bluegrass/Rock...
I listen to everything from Flatt & Scruggs to Robert Fripp to Dizzy Gillespie... and most things in between-- and yes I know what a spectrum that is. Music is the universal language-- and a great peacemaker. I try to respect even what I do not particularly like... tho it's not always easy.

It is nice to know we have more than computers in common Ih8bills. Music used to be a passion for me. I had a collection you would enjoy. Mozart to ZZtop. Classical to Celtic. Even some Mannfred Mann.... I think my Dorsey 78s were my faves. Of course, that passion has long since settled to more of a nice warm fire. You might say I'm more of a Bing Crosby and sip of brandy kind of guy....lol

Quinn the Eskimo,eh ? I had a friend in the service got me listening to Manfredd Mann.
My dad probably still has his Bing Crosby '78s-- those discs were amazing...had to weigh over a pound a piece.
I don't know how true it is-- but someone once told me that Bing's voice was an honest genetic mutation...his vocal cords were 'abnormally structured'-- and that's what gave his voice that tone.

Yes...I admit it. I went thru that strange phase. You know...Artists like Jethro Tull, Mannfred Mann, Uriah Heep......All without the accompanying drugs. Anyway..I'm better now. I'd not heard that story about Bing. I just know that he had a great voice. Most singers of that day didn't have electronics to make their voice sound good like today. Oh...by the way. If you ever try to listen to those old 78s it would be improper to use anything other than an old wind up Victrola with a 6 penny needle..
