Ok what do YOU think is best for games/gaming, i mean purely for games.

The PC

Or consoles (PlayStation 3, XboX360, Wii)

Heres a few pros and cons for both.

PC- As a games machine

-Pros-

-Easy to upgrade
-Huge online userbase (XBOX live also has a huge userbase)
-Very modable games (Althought the PS3 is becoming modable, UT3 for example)

-Cons-

-Expensive
-Lots of possible problems to run into
-Massive power usage
-Noisy
-Takes up alot of space both virtually and physically, as games need to be installed and not run straight from the disc.



-Consoles-

-Pros-

-Far cheaper
-You know the game will ALWAYS work
-No or little problems
-Massive online userbase (XboX live mainly)
-Less noisy (PS3 mostly, 360 is louder than my pc :O)
-Less space to take up
-Games run straight from the disc
-Low power usage

-Cons-

-Cant upgrade the hardware (PS3 you can upgrade the hardrive using laptop drives, or XboX360 if you want to get ripped off by Microsoft)

-Games not as modable....yet.

Thats it really.




Me personally, for gaming i think the PS3 or the 360 is the better choice, as pc gaming is expensive and most of the decent titles are either on or coming to consoles. Id love to see a £280 pc, run oblivion on maximum settings.

I don't want to seem awkward but i, like many others, are more interested in game play. Personally the Wii seems to have the best game play... As the Wii is a console i will vote console =)

if your willing to pay lots a money and constantly upgrading, the pc will always be on the leading edge of technology, and in my opinion its the most rewarding to play games on, its probably just me, but it takes me a long time if at all, to get into the game with a console, with pc i feel "in the game", my pc kicks consoles a** graphically. But for most people i would say that consoles are the way to go, not a lot of people are preapared to pay large amounts of cash on something that will be out of date within months. ppl who want a simple gaming machine go for console, im a bit of a geek so i like maintaining ma pc-its also a kinda hobby, gaming pc's are for the "gardeners", not the people just sit in them , so i vote pc

EDIT: I am actually a sucker for classic consoles such as n64, ps1,and the ol sega's but i actually use emulators on the pc.....

Number 2 I would put a challenge down to your i would love to see a £280 pc run onlivion on high setting for £280 i could build you a AMD Phenom (9600) system with 4gb ram 500gig sata hd with top end graphics card, thermaltake case and 500w psu.

That would take your consoles to the drain. At least i hope so lol
