Default Re: HDD Prefrences.

Western Digital & Seagate, had a Maxtor...long story short I ended up spending $80 on a data recovery program...so, I'm not exactly in Maxtor's fan club.

I have two seagate's in my PC, a 160gb as my primary and a 80gb slave that I got free (I replaced it in a computer from my work because my boss thought it was bad even though it was perfectly fine, that computer now has an older 15gb HD but my boss is happy...and I got a free HD...). As my back-up HD (that Maxtor incident made me realize that backing up all my files is crucial) I have a 82gb Hitachi drive in a removable IDE rack, I got that drive pretty cheap off ebay, as I did the 160gb drive.
I'm definetly a Seagate fan.

Speaking of free HDs, I also got a free WD 60gb drive from a computer that my boss had at his house (he's one of those people that thinks any problem with a computer is related to the HD), it too is perfectly fine and I might pop it in a USB enclosure and use it too, not because I need it...I don't really as I currently have about 19gb of files and such and 322gb of HD space, but just because I can...........

My laptop has an IBM Travelstar drive that's 10gb (the original was only 4.3...very constraining), after sitting on my shelf for a while and winding up in various parts of my room it works great, so no complaints there either....
