Welcome to PCHF, actually there are a few but not many viruses that do affect Apple Macs.

Just like anything else ... it's about "Market Share".
If you want to write a Virus--you want it to
draw the most attention/do the most damage... right?
Windows-based computers are over 85% of the Market-- for many reasons... but mostly because of big business having all it's networks/software/training already invested. They don't want to change-- because:

everything would have to be reconfigured

all the software changed

all their employees re-trained

This would cost so much money/time, etc.

There are Mac viruses... but they're isolated/small-potatoes
Windows Viruses can spread world-wide -- in just hours... this has already happened.

It is a never-ending argument about which OS is "better" or "more secure"
than the other.

But the largest reason by far-- is the simplest.
Change Costs Money
