Default This is stupid.

This is INSANE, I'm looking for a new notebook and I decided to have a look at dell.

1.73 Core2Duo
15.4" Screen = Just right
2Gb RAM
120HD
9 Cell batt

It all comes to £370 EX VAT and Shipping or £433 inc VAT, that's fine, you can't avoid VAT but THEN they wan't to charge £60[About $119 USD] for shipping. £60 shipping? are they taking this ****? If by 'shipping' they mean 'renting a small private boat and a couple kids to row across the atlantic' that'd be fine, but c'mon...

I mean, I don't mind the overall price of the laptop as nothing I could buy from a shop would come close, but it's just a joke that they want £60 for shipping

Unless they're shoving it in a taxi or something

Why dont you try an online store like newegg but a different site that ships to the U.K? Newegg always has good deals on the same notebooks dell sells and cost ya USA of course) a couple hundred dollars less.

I knwo i bought my wife her pc (she wanted all the software that came bundled) ?

But On Dell they wanted like 1,200 for a Celeron D 3.2 ??

So i looked up on newegg and they had the same excact pc but had a little smaller HD and it was 278 bucks cheaper..

It's that warranty they get you with!

I've looked around and there's no way I can get anything with similar specs cheaper, and warranty isn't too bad as they have to provide atleast 12 moths under UK law so I can go for the minimum package.

EDIT: Also if I bought from the USA, customs and import taxes + VAT would make it more expensive than buying it here, sadly.

Its not so much getting it "cheaper" but more of knowing that you will actually get the goods you pay for.

I hate sellers/thieves/con artists that exploit consumers like this, its only natural for people to hunt around the web looking for the best price (which is why i went apesh*t when a copper slapped my wrists for basically finding a good deal on the net..)
