And, if you're using autoexec.bat in windows XP you're way more of an expert than I since to my knowledge autoexec.bat msdos.sys and config.sys were replaced by NTLDR...though different versions of those files tend to exist if you're dual-booting an NT platform with a 9x/ME platform.

upgrader is right though..you shouldn't tinker with these files unless you truly don't care if your machine works properly or don't care if you have to re-install your OS.
