I just downloaded a dj mix that is available for free download and it is a .php file. The size is about 90 MB, and 192 Kbps in quality. What exactly is a .php audio file? Is it possible to convert it to a .mp3 or better yet, even a need to? It plays fine on WinAmp and sounds great....I guess if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Just curious what this is about....thanks in advance!!

PHP is an open-source scripting code-- it allows you to post all manner of files to the web for others to use. It should be possible to convert it-- but in conversions from 1 format to another ... there can be some loss of quality.

There is a whole world full of free stuff at sourceforge and others.

All open source-- which means that anyone who knows how to 'code' software can make their own contributions to a program's development. Linux is an example-- there are hundreds of versions... maybe thousands-- some are customized for particular tasks by the users themselves.

Possibly you need to 'Save as' this file. Instead of .php, make the filename .mp3
Sometimes it happens that people store files in other extensions. Probably to cover that it's a music file.
