Hi all
VMware is here to stay and not before time!!!!
I recently bought and IPod which had 30Gb of hard drive and not unnaturally being in IT Support wondered how I could use it in the wider quest to do 'the job' more effectively.
Picture the senario ... you arrive at a site to do some IT support and need access to all those wonderful utilities that you have spent what seems a millenia to master. You pull out your IPod from your pocket (Gone are the days when you had to lug around a heavy laptop!!) and ask "so which PC is currently unused?" So you find a PC with some decent memory and plug the IPod into the USB port ... you then connect to your IPod and very, very quickly install VMWare player (all free of charge). You then proceed to load a VM of Windows XP that has been saved to your IPod and log into your desktop via the OS held on your IPod. ......... and away you go ..... the rest is history!
You have a very portable desktop available at sites that have an unused PC and all at the cost of carrying you IPod around in your pocket.
.... and yes it does seem to work very effectively and efficiently.
All the best now ..... btw T the site looks and feels good mate

I guess the only down-side is when you are working on a (uggghh) NT machine that doesn't even know that USB was invented in the first place!!
