Default Building a laptop?

Is it possible to build a laptop? Like buy the case, and then buy seperatly the different parts you specificaly want to put into it since there's a lot of stuff that companys make you pay for when buying a laptop which you really don't need nor want, most of the time it's extra software. I found a site where they sell parts such as HD, Optical Drives, wireless cards, un-attached LCDs, batteries,... Unfortunently they don't show pictures of most of the hardware. But I don't know if there's any special coding or assembly neeeded to build your own laptop, as in, is it the same thing as building your desktop system? Just plug up everything and you have a working compute

I don't think this would is possible, I am sure other people would be able to give their opinions but laptops are specialised pieces equipment. I am sure you could speak to computer stores and ask them for a laptop with the spec you want.
