Hi Lucie Ann,Just wanted to chime in and tell you how great it is to see a young woman interested in becoming a trained tech.
I am assuming that you are interested in both hardware and software training, however, while I believe that formal training can be very useful, it is not the only avenue accorded you. Working with the programs and taking advantage of the excellent online tutorials offered by Microsoft could take you far into your desired path. As can hands on practice, I'll bet lots of your friends and family could use a good personal tech.
I would also recommend going through the HJT bootcamp here at PCHF, you will learn some fabulous troubleshooting techniques, it's free, and it's self paced. PCHF HijackThis! Bootcamp. One thing to keep in mind, being a tech at a company usually includes lots of user interaction. Your people skills can take you as far as your technical skills can; sometimes a little common sense can save you a lot of headache. Companies really appreciate someone who can calm down a hysterical user and figure out when it is really an operator error and not a mechanical one.
Best of luck with your endevours, please keep us informed on your direction and progress.
