Good afternoon,
I bought an aspire one netbook.
and I loved my little netbook, I loved Linux(always been a windows girl before)even if it was all a bit of a mystery.
When all of a sudden I can no longer get on the internet. I didn't panic but went to take a look at the network center but it won't open.
I have tried to enter F2 when it reboots (as suggested in a help thread) and do a complete recovery but it won't do that either.
I have no recovery disc and my little netbook doesn't have a disc drive anyhow.
I have access to a windows XP PC and am on line with it, so I know it is the Acer not the connection etc.
If you could give some advice that would be excellent, but please make it easy steps because the details I have given is as techie as I get.
Hoping you can help and thanking you in advance

What happened immediately previously to you realising you could not connect to the net or to the router in other words?

Not sure the kids had it before that and they may or may not have been on the internet. But I know there was an update recently (can't see it in my update history though)
One development though we have found (after turning the house upside down) the recovery disc. Can we just load that onto our windows based PC and save it to a memory stick (netbook has no disc drive) and then load to netbook. Is that OK? |
