Hi,

FYI, I received the 2009XP distro, loaded it, didn't like it & I've put it away in favour of the free one! Quite happy with Ubuntu. Unfortunately, with all the space Windows was taking up, fitting these 2 on was a prob, so I ditched Windows. But can't seem to use partition editor as I want.... I wonder if there's a prob or just that I don't know how to use it, but resize, delete etc are not options for the other partitions, so I ended up reinstalling Ubuntu in the spare partition Windows left! So now I have 2 partitions of Ubuntu - one small & one large, and one small Linux2009 that I don't want... oh, and a few 'swaps'....?? Currently having a look at 'how to partition' docs...

I would like to know also how I go about configuring for a remote desktop? I have the computers networked & can get at my docs & settings in the other Windows machine, but would like to be able to move/copy docs TO that machine as well, and use the occasional Windows program on it??

Oh my! I know I've seen you posting all over in the Linux forum. You found resolution for this, didn't you?

I'm SO sorry that it fell through the cracks. Please let me know if you wish further assistance.

Oh, thanks for replying!

No, I haven't worked it out yet. I am able to file share to/from the Windows machine, from Ubuntu, but not the other way round - Windows can't find any networked drive. I was also able to get the remote desktop happening a few times, but for some reason, not reliably & haven't been able to get it happening for a while at all. Says 'connection closed'.
