Solved: laptaop with Linux?????

Hi,
I am thinking of buying my daughters a laptop each for xmas and the one they seem to like a lot is the Asus 7" eee pc ( is this a good choice?? )with the Linux ops.(great for me as they are relativley cheap at the mo)

I am not familier with Linux and although i have read some comments by a few people who seem to really like the system, i am still a little unsure!!!!

Any one have any advice Please about the laptap and linux system????

Because they want one each, i'm afraid i can probably only go to about £250 each !!!!

I have one myself and I have to say it's great! Look at the spec...

* Intel Atom N270Processor - Energy efficient
* Operating System - Windows(R) XP Home (more familiar to you)
* Memory & storage - 1GB Memory & 120GB HDD (I have upgraded mine to 2GB)
* Portable - 10" Widescreen Display & 1.12KG (MUCH better than a puny 7" screen!)
* Extras - Bluetooth connectivity & webcam (Perfect for their late night MSN chats with their friends!!)
