just wondering if i could change the name of the boot options? so it for an example says "Vista" instead of "Windows Vista/Longhorn (loader)"

I have a few questions:

can you start vista in safe mode when using grub?

and can it be something with that i have to many partitions? i have 2 primary, and 1 extended and in that i have 3 primary. when installing i had 3 primary plus the extended. is it to many partitions?

what happens when i unmount a partiton? can i mount it back later?

I solved the problem. I downloaded Vista Recovery Disc, and it repaired Vista.

still want to know the answers of my questions though.
