Exclamation [Answered] Corrupt OS

If i downloaded an OS, ubuntu for example or another linux distro or anything really like MAC OS X or Windows of some sort.

I obviously need to create an image, but first i need to see if the OS is corrupt and if it will work.

How do i go about doing that?

Thanks in advance.

I know with Ubuntu-- they have an MD5Checksum -- you use a free program called winMD5sum-- to check it against a list
it's kind of a "fingerprint" line-of-code for that file.

Nullriver Software ~ Products ~ winMd5Sum

A TIP:
if it's good-- and you are going to burn the file-- use the slowest speed (I used 4x) on your burner app-- or it won't come out right
