Yes, when you install you can choose manual partitioning and use the D: partition. Ubuntu has an excellent partitioning tool, thats easy to use, and the installer pretty much does everything for you. You will be given an option of where to install the bootloader(Grub), i suggest installing it to the MBR. When you boot up, youll have the option to boot to windows, or Ubuntu. But dualbooting is not without potential problems, if its done wrong, you can wipe out all your windows stuff, or make it inaccessable. Since this is a fresh install anyway, youre pretty safe, at worst youd have to reinstall everything.lol If you have data on the windows drive, always back it up before installing. I suggest reading some tutorials and doing a little research first.
