Unhappy [Pending] Linux Mouse Issues

I recently installed Slackware 11 in dual-boot with Windows XP Home on my comp.
Slack boots to command prompt by default, no big deal. When i start up the X-server to go into graphical mode, my mouse doesnt work I dont know if my keyboard is working because i pressed every key on the darn thing and nothing happens. I rebooted into command prompt mode, and I tried everything.... Xorgconfig, Xsetup, and editing the xorg.conf file manually, to no avail. Anybody got any better ideas?

i have a Logitech Cordless Desktop, with the keyboard attached to USB and the mouse attached to PS/2 (i lost the ps2-usb adapter, or they keyb would be on ps2 as well)

Anyways, is there any way to get the mouse working other than the above mentioned methods?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine said i could boot using a liveCD of Ubuntu since my mouse worked under it, and then copy the .conf files for X windows into my Slackware installation. What do you all think of that?

Ive never tried slackware either, but from what ive read, your issue is fairly common. What youve already tried should have helped. Have a look here, if you havent already:
The Slackware Linux Project
It looked like some pretty good info there on the mouse issue.
