Thanks for the replies
I`ve managed to get my wireless working now using a guide i found on installing it for dapper server.
Only thing is now my sound has brokened, and i havent the faintest idea why
Would i be able to install my windows sound drivers using ndiswrapper or is it only for networking?

If its possible help would be appreciated

Its odd that your sound was working, and it quit after you got the wireless working. Could be coincidence, but if youre running ubuntu 6(dapper drake) they are having some sound issues with sound in it. First go to :Applications>Sound and Video>Volume control : make sure the volume is turned up. Next go to: System>preferences>sound : and on the general tab, make sure both the boxes are checked. You should also see your soundcard listed there.
Do you have any sound at all, can you hear the startup sounds. Here is a good troubleshooting guide that may help:

my sound works now, its just a faulty connection :-)

My friend helped me set up xgl so now i have all the crazy wobbly windows and stuff :-)
