Ubuntu is the best, here are my favourites

1: ubuntu
2: suse
3: mandriva
4: fedora
5: mepis
6: debian
7: Starts with D small linux
8: knoppix
9: gentoo
10: slackware

MEPIS and PCLinuxOS are my favourites. Both can install to hard drive, both are/were based on successful distros (Debian and Mandriva (then called Mandrakelinux) and both contain a lot of features. I'd say PCLinuxOS is probably more suited to installation than MEPIS though. The problem is both of them are suited for mid-range and higher computers (MEPIS used to come with fluxbox, but I'm not sure if that's applicable anymore)

I have recently downloaded PCLinuxOS 0.93a (Big Daddy) and seems easy to use...
