My usb ports on my laptop stop working for a few days then out of nowhere starts working again i've tried windows xp sp2 sp3 and vista sp1 sp2 but the same still happens any ideas would be appreciated.

Is it only partucular devices? or every single one?

Hello and Welcome ichigo!
Please provide make and manufacturer of lappy As Duck asks, have you tested ALL USB ports? Did you use the same device to test or have you used multiple devices? Could it be the USB device itself rather than the ports? Have you checked the manufacturer's site for new USB drivers? That would be my guess with the information provided.

Tried several usb devices which all work on my pc but not on my laptop does it on all usb ports and my laptop make is an MZ36 by packard bell also tried updating drivers etc thanks for replies
