Default HP Pavilion DV9260US - Video Issues

I have a friend who is having some video related issues with his HP Pavilion DV9260US. Out of nowhere, his machine blue screened and when his system restarts, the blue 'HP Screen' that appears during the POST process and the Windows loading screen has large lines down it.

While trying to boot Windows, the system blue screens again. It will do this every time, until we jump into safe mode and disable the display drivers for his Nvidia GeForce 7600 video card. I should note, that even after disabling the drivers, the lines still appear on the blue HP post screen.

We have tried using older drivers and I believe he tried to use the Nvidia Omega drivers, but still no luck.

I'm sorry that I don't have the BSoD error at the moment, I will shortly though next time I get in touch with my friend. I just wanted to get this post up as soon as possible, in case someone already knows a fix or has some advice.

We would greatly appreciate any kind of tips or proposed solutions.

Thank you very much.

Hi

The lines you describe is a clear indication that the o/b graphics is defective.

First thing to do, is check the link Wolfeymole posted.

If your system is not listed there try this:Warranty check - IT Resource Center
