Ok, so here recently i hackintosh'd my Inspiron 1525, and i am currently running snowlepord 10.6.8 and Windows 7. My S.M.A.R.T status also recently became "failing" according to Macintosh os, and i am unable to edit any partions/anything on disk utility. The Reason the S.M.A.R.T status is failing is unknown, but no matter how many 3rd party programs i install to check the status they all say my drive is in great condition. How would i go into turning off S.M.A.R.T monitoring if the system BIOS does not have an option for S.M.A.R.T? If that is not possible how would i reset the data taken from the S.M.A.R.T test, or just simply retake that certain test. If you could please answer this question that would be amazing. I have been stumped on this for a while. Thank You!

    Hello and Welcome to PCHF,

There should be an option for S.M.A.R.T in the BIOS, most motherboards do have it, you just need to know where to look.

Look up the manual for your motherboard and it will tell you where the SMART option would be.
