Exclamation AC Adapter Trouble

Basically, I plug it in and it's fine, the light comes on and it notifies me that my adapter is acknowledged by my laptop with a little orange light.
I click the on button, and the light goes off, and it runs by battery..

I've tried loads of times keeping the battery out and stuff, on the odd occasion it works, it takes about 10 minutes til it just dies.

So if i want to use my laptop, I have to turn it off everytime the battery runs out, let it charge, then do the same, over and over again.

It's not helping with the extreme amount of work I have to do right now!

I don't have warrenty anymore, and I can't afford to pay for repairs or new adapters, I just don't understand!

Can someone please explain and help!!!

Hello rosecotz and Welcome to PC Help Forum. We have an excellent staff and community ready to help you.

I will mark this thread as "Open" until one of our highly-trained and highly-skilled Techs can jump in and help.

I know how you're feeling at the moment. AC adapters come and go and have to be replaced and they are frustrating to fix and kind of expensive to replace. I know EXACTLY how you feel, and I want you to know that you're not alone. Together we can figure this out...

Also, it sounds like the battery isn't holding a full charge, which means you'll have to replace it, but I'm not sure.

I'm sure my battery is fine.
I mean right now it's all okay, because my battery run out and it's running on charge, but i think that when it gets to being 100% charged, it'll stop running on AC.
I'll wait and see.

It only started this when I moved my laptop into another room and plugged it into another socket, now it doesn't like any socket!

could this be a factor?

It could either be the battery or the AC adaptor.

Since its hard to tell, I would suggest visiting a hardware store and ask if they can somehow measure if the voltage on the AC adaptor is still right and possibly also check the output from the battery.

One way or the other, this is a hardware problem, and can only be fixed if something gets replaced.

a friend of mine had this same problem, it's the transformer inside the adapters fuse box which would be the big fat thing that the two cables meet at for laptops. unfortunately it is due to plugging it into a socket that has too many watts of electricity flowing through it probably due to not enough electrical appliances or something in that area. I'm sorry to say that this problem is not fixable you have to go out and buy a new ac adapter. in the mean time that is a big sign that there is either a wiring problem in your wall(most likely the outlet) or like I said just need to plug in more things in the area to draw all the electricity.
