Default my dv5-1002nr shutdown its self?overheating??

i have a problem with my HP dv5-1002nr , after I use it for a few hours it shutdown by its self, and when i start it up again it resume windows, so i guess it is not just shutting down, but it goes to hibernation.first the screen goes black, and after a 30seconds to a minute it shuts down. I checked the bottom and it looks to me that its very hot .. I'm using it on a charger, all the time... my speed fan is showing me that my temperatures are going from 50C to 110C, witch i guess its not normal, normally when i'm just browse tru internet it's around 50-65C but when I play some games like NBA 2k9 it goes to 110C sometimes to 115C!!

the other problem i have and its not related to this one is, that sometimes when i connect it to power it doesn't recharge my battery? its working normally, and its saying that its plugged in and charging but after an hour the battery % is the same.. I'm not using my battery almost at all, so i don't think its the battery.
I'm not sure should I leave my battery on my laptop while I'm using it on my charger? or should I take it off, because i use my laptop on the battery once a month maybe even less...

I'm sure that these two problems aren't connected.

my laptop is only 6 months old... so its still on warranty...

please help!!

Ok, 110 to 115c is very hot,i would suggest that you use your warranty at it's fullest...On both of your problems...good luck

Hey Guys,

@ Mici, my welcome to PCHF as well. While it could be an interesting puzzle to work out, I'm with Vger on this one, use the warranty, and make them send you a new laptop! That is not the sort of thing that should be happening to a brand new laptop. That's why they have warranties, so if you get a lemon, they can fix it.

Please let us know if you have any trouble with the company. We will be looking forward to an update of your situation.

Ok, that was my plan... the only problem is that I'm out of USA for at least 1 more month, so i will have to wait until i get back...
Can this overheating do some mayor damage to my laptop? so my warranty gets voided?

Hey Mici,

I would contact the company immediately, and tell them the situation. Make sure that they log the call, so that if there is major damage later on, you have a record of it being caused by the overheating.

Make sure they understand your situation, being out of the country, and if it seems that the person you are talking with is not getting the point, ask to speak to a supervisor. Keep escalating the call until you speak with someone who can guarantee that they will honor the warranty.

Please let us know if you have any difficulty. BTW, where are you, and what are you doing out of the country, must be interesting.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
