)!First, thanx to the guys that helped me get my task manager back- the answer was so easy! I was like, "Doh"!
Three things about me:
1. I'm a media producer and I also make independant films so I do a LOT of
video editing on my computer.
2. I LOVE playing THE SIMS 2! Hee Hee! I have Every expansion pack plus
a plethora of CC downloaded mostly from MODTHESIMS and EA's "The
Sims 2" website. ( If you are familiar with EA's site, I'm member
"ennoidyam")
3. I'm not rich and I'm cheap.
# 3 does'nt go well with #'s 2 & 1 because my poor computer only has 512mb RAM. If you're familiar with NL editing or THE SIMS you KNOW that those are memory-guzzlers!
I have a Sony Vaio dektop. I bough it five years ago and let me just say, SONY VAIO is the BEST computer EVER! I have put that baby through heck and it keeps going! Sometimes I'll be running AVID, Photoshop, After Effects and a sound editor all at the same time.
A while ago, it started overheating and shutting off. The fans were working so I knew it was that part that regulates temp (I don't know what its called). I took the side panel off my Sony and cleaned all the dust out then put a little table fan next to it and let it blow into it while I'm using it. It hasn't overheated since! and I save $$$$! Yeah!

I don't want to make any HP users mad but I bought a brand new HP media Center last year and my old gerry-rigged Vaio STILL out performed it- so much so that when the HP balked at running multiple NLE's, (somthing the Vaio NEVER did), I packed it up and put it away and pulled the Vaio out again and am using it to this day!
One day I'll save enough to get the RAM my Vaio deserves (maybe a Christmas present.).
Oh, and I also Love Star Wars! YES I'm going to see "Clone Wars" and NO, I don't camp out in tents waiting for the movie to open.
