Unhappy [Fixed] help :o)

hi
i have a new(secondhand) PC and i just figured out how to check if it has a sound card only to find out it hasn't much to my disappointment!
anyway now i know i need to find a sound card on ebay but was wondering if anyone could advise me how to find out which on would be compatible!

i have no idea i have a set of speakers that i tried on my mp3 player but they don;t work!
i looked on sounds and audio device properties and it says no audio device! so now i am clueless!
i spoke to my dad who knows a tiny bit about pcs and he says i should have sound as part of my motherboard but i don;t know how to check its workin!

What make and model is your pc Becky?
It may be you need a driver for the sound.

its a dell optiplex 210L 3.00 Ghz / 800 Mhz
512MB 533MHz NON-ECC DDRII Memory (1*512MB)
80GB (7200rpm) SATA Hard Drive

runs on windows xp pro

Go here and enter your model number to get the sound driver for your pc.
