Hi Guys and Gals,
I've been on this site for a little while but haven't posted very much; I thought I should post something here as I had and idea I thought I should check out with the forum first.
I work for a charity called U Can Do IT (
Welcome - UCanDoIT - Computer training and Internet training for blind, deaf and disabled people at home) which teaches people with disabilities how to use computers and the internet. I always try to teach my students how to use forums as they can be really useful sources of information. I'd like to direct my students to this forum and have them post a message here - but would it get annoying if a lot of students posted?
The second thing is, assuming it's ok for my students to post, is there normally someone on call who would reply to the post? It would be great if my students got some instant feedback.
And, finally, a little plug: if you know of anyone in the London, Liverpool, South Wales, or Edinburgh areas who has a disability (physical or otherwise) and would like to learn how to use computers, please put them in touch with U Can Do IT: the phone number is on the website,
Welcome - UCanDoIT - Computer training and Internet training for blind, deaf and disabled people at home.
And a second finally: I'm currently looking for spare computer parts for students, so if you are in the UK and have something you think you could donate it would be great!
RAM modules, harddrives, cables, etc etc etc - anything really! Postage and packaging costs will be refunded (I live in Edinburgh).
Thanks,
Jim
