Hello everybody iam new here i was wondering if anybody had any advice or tips on how to solve this problem i have.
I have been using IE for a couple of years no probs but all of a sudden it dosent work no more.
But my Fire fox does work.

I dont know whats going on, it aint a firewall problem as i turned them off,it aint a programme start up problem as i turned them all of and it still dident work.
I turned add ons off, i resetted every internet option back to default but nothing works.
One thing that does work though is that internet explorer does work in safe mode.
I have windows xp but i have no anti virus at the moment as nortons ran out.
And what makes this really annoying is that i cant get a free anti virus of the internet because when i download it, it than tries an update but it cant get through because it thinks iam offline because internet eplorer aint working.

If anyone could help me out it would my appreciated thank you.

I would like you do the prework (link in my sig) and post the resulting logs back here. We can then have the security team check them to rule out or help remove any Malware that may be lurking, after which we can get the Techs involved if needed.

You should also use a firewall for your own protection, Windows Firewall is built in and serves as a basic firewall should you not want to use a third party product.

I tried that Ian but the problem is because internet explorer dosent work it wont allow me to use it because it needs to update first but it cant because it thinks i have no internet connect because of IE dont work.

Is there anyway it can run by firefox?.

try setting Fierfox as your Default browser
Tools> Options> Advanced> System Defaults,
Ensure there's a tick in the box

I have done that Ian it still makes no difference.

I just had a little idea Ian, how about if i run virus scan in safe mode because IE works in safe mode.
Would virus scan work and scan every file in safe mode?
