Default My sites are acting weird

I recently installed Avast Antivirus on my computer and it is working great but I realized that I now can not get on Yahoo or Google. It is like Avast is blocking these sites. Is there anything I can do without uninstalling Avast because it really has made a difference in pop-ups. I can still access some sites like AskJeeves and MSN but I need to be able to access Yahoo.

My internet tech came out and told me that all my connections and everything was fine but it seemed as if something was blocking certain sites and that is when I realized that it might be Avast that I installed because I could go to yahoo fine before I installed Avast.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks

Hello,go into avast firewall settings and check the allow/exceptions list.

Avast web shield?

You need to check avast setiings.

ALWIL Software a.s. - avast! Support Center

Configuration of the Web Shield HTTP proxy - avast! Support Center

Okay, I went to the sites you gave me but when I went to Tools, I only had Options, not Internet Options and in the Options, I don't have Connections.

In Options I only have Main, Tabs, Content, Feeds, Privacy, Security, and Advanced buttons.

Okay I found connections in the Advance button and by clicking on settings. I can now get onto yahoo because I followed the Configuration of the Web Shield HTTP. I still cannot get onto MSNBC though.

Where is the windows firewall exceptions located at?

If this is XP click start/control panel/security/firewall/exceptions tab and allow are located there.Same pricible for Vista.

In Avast I am not sure it is not a program I have used.It could be under security or advanced.

Yeay we got one allowed.

Okay, thanks.

I still could not find a way to get to FireFox's Windows Firewall. I get it sooner or later. It just really bugs me because I was just on msnbc last week and it loaded fine.
