Default New Internet connection lets FF work, but not IE or Opera

Hi!

I recently ditched my iPrimus ADSL, and joined Telstra, with their cable.

However, its only firefox that seems to be able to access the internet, whenever I use Opera, I'm presented with this
http://img507.imageshack.us/my.php?i...creenieit9.png

The same occurs whenever I try to use Internet explorer.

Does anyone know how I can use Opera to access the internet again?

On a random note. The new forum layout is refreshingly clean

Hey gummy-ness,

I'm not convinced (at least not yet) that this is an ISP problem, as your ISP has no way of knowing if your running FF or IE. Both applications need to and use port 80 for internet traffic, so I believe that the problem must be local. Opera runs on IE, so I'm not suprised your receiving the same message on both.

First of all, can you check the following Microsoft Article regarding this issue: Error Message When You Try to Browse the Web: Access Denied to System Because of URL Filter Configuration

If your still unable to connect, please can you follow PCHF Prework on my signature, and post a HJT log for a member of security to analyse. Has any other security software been installed on your PC recently?

Thanks for the response monkey

I followed the instructions and ticked both the
•Automatically detect settings
•Use automatic configuration script
My IE works, however, Opera is still giving me the 'URL filter' message....

Great to hear gummy. The same settings for Opera can be found in Tools, Preferences, Advanced tab, followed by Network.
