Welcome to PCHF,
Two suggestions:
My first suggestion is for you to download and install this program (it's free) CCleaner ...
Alternative Download.
After installing...run the program...click on
Analyzer...then click on
Run Cleaner.
On the left side of the window, click on Registry...click on
Scan for issues...click on
Fix selected issues.
This program will cleanup your temp files and cookies
Secondly, use
Disk Defragmenter:
1. Click
Start, point to
All Programs, point to
Accessories, point to
System Tools, and then click
Disk Defragmenter.

Click Analyze to start the Disk Defragmenter.
2. To defragment the selected drive, click the
Defragment button.
After the defragmentation is complete, Disk Defragmenter displays the results.
3. Click the
Close button.
By defragging the drives, you will be over writing the space where the previously deleted files had been written.
