Ok, in my last post about the forum I got a nice new forum working.

Now I'm putting up the sticky posts but there is one that I want to remain on the VERY top of the list. "Forum Rules" but as I make other sticky posts it finds its way down the list. Is there any way to just move the post back to the top manually?

They're sorted by creation date

Yeah its done by the date/time you created the sticky. So unless you can find a mod or something to do it then the only way I can see is deleting the one you want at the top and recreating it.

well that stinks. I mean they give you the power to move whole forums and sections but they cant just allow you to move a single thread? Seems like someone would have made that option by now.

oh well, thanks!

Have you got the option to create an Announcement?

Yes, I thought of doing that and it would work for one. But what I really want if the ability to put my stickies up and just have em like pinned in the exact spot I want them in.

I am not familiar with SMF but PHPBB3 is amazing. I highly recommend it. It is free and offers much more than SMF. But as to your problem, you can bump the topics into order.

Don't agree with that I'm afraid....more exploits, sure..more features..no.

I was with phpbb3, it was ok but it was slow, I couldnt really figure out the control panel, I couldnt figure out how to get the top to have my banner on it rather then phpbb3. Overall I'm much happier with SMF.

They do have a mod list on the site so maybe there is something there.

As for bumping, yes I could do that but that would require me to continually bump it up to the top. I want it to just stay in the exact spot I put it.
