Hey Jedi Jackson,
After a fair amount of surfing, I haven't really found any performance reviews of microwave internet for gaming...or any application for that matter.
I did find this informative page that answers tons of questions about WiMAX.- I
WiMAX FAQ — WIMAX I believe WiMAX is the technology you are referring to because I'm pretty sure it is the only standard for wireless microwave internet technology at the moment.
From the sounds of it, it has an incredibly far range, which means it will have a better signal in more places, which will be the biggest factor that will affect your gaming latency. It has a very capable bandwidth when compared to cable/dsl (even better than cable/dsl according to the article), so you should experience a consistent connection, even if lots of people in your area are on. The speed that you are considering getting is pretty much equivalent to a medium speed DSL connection which should be more than plenty if it is just being used for a gaming connection and not much else going on at the same time. Just don't be steaming video and hosting an FTP site while you play
Even if you did find reviews about some people's experience with WiMAX, I doubt they would be reliable because it is such a new technology and I doubt you will be able to measure your performance according to other people's experiences.
To sum it up, on paper, you should be perfectly happy with that connection speed and the performance of WiMAX. But like any internet service provider, you won't know until you try. My advice to you would be to get a detailed description of the return policy and contract information. Every ISP I have dealt with has a trial period in which you can return the contract and equipment and no money lost. So if they have an acceptable return policy, use it thoroughly for that time period and just return it if it doesn't perform to your expectations.
Hope that helps!
