hi all im a dj and i post mixes online, basically ive been thinking it would be cool to be able to have the link to the mix download page to say something like 'download mix' but any attempts have just resulted in the code just showing up instead of a hyperlink

ive used <a href="web address for mix download page">hyperlink title</A> obviously with the correct url and hyperlink title

and i think that a lot of the forums i post on are in bbcode , should this matter?

Hi djfada and Welcome to PCHF

For forums with HTML turned off (like this one) you need to use bbcode for the hyperlinks.
This would work:

seems i was putting < instead of [ for the brackets

You also may find on some forums you need to put the "url" word in upper case.
